Medical Claims and Billing Specialist

The Medical Claims and Billing Specialist major combines a foundation in medical administration with a thorough understanding of computer applications, and groundwork in accounting. This combination is designed to prepare the student for employment in the areas of medical insurance, physician's office coding, and health care claims processing. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the medical record of a patient, cost of treatment, terms and conditions of insurance and privileges and obligations of the patient and insurance company.
